The Emerson is set to host the 2016 Celebration of the Arts on Friday, January 29th beginning at 6pm. Come for an elegant evening at the Emerson with cocktails, fine dining, live entertainment, a live artist “Quick Draw,” and live and silent auctions featuring a fabulous array of items. This year’s theme is Chinese New Year! New This Year: Preview the art auction in our Jessie Wilber Gallery through January 31st.
From oils to watercolors, from ceramics to metalwork, the First Annual Celebration of the Arts Exhibit is a juried collection of original art donated by local and regional artists in support of the Emerson. This inaugural exhibit allows the curators for the first time to honor and highlight artists who over the years have contributed their works to the Emerson’s most important fundraiser, Celebration of the Arts. Step inside the Jessie Wilber Gallery to capture the artistic vitality of Southwest Montana and appreciate the deep level of commitment to the Emerson reflected in the skill and creativity of the exhibitors. These artists support the Emerson by donating art works which are auctioned off during the event to raise money for the Emerson’s exhibits, education and restoration programs.
This year, they are showcasing a few of the original works submitted to give recognition to the artists who contribute. These artists are: Sarah Angst, Joanne Berghold, Michael Blessing, Kathy Burk, Troy Collins, Todd Conner, Roger Cruwys, Jim Dick, Josh DeWeese, Thomas English, Tom Gilleon, Kevin Heaney, Craig Hergert, JROD, Duncan Kippen, Ryan Mitchell, Mark Noyes, Richard Parrish, Scott Scherer, Marci Suratt, Kara Tripp and Ella Watson. Tickets to this event are available at the Emerson’s front office and online at theemerson.org/.
