TEDxBozeman, Montana’s first and longest-running TEDx event, is now accepting applications for speakers and performers for 2016.
The fifth annual TEDxBozeman will be held Saturday, April 9th, 2016. Applications can be submitted online through Friday, November 20th. Interested individuals are encouraged to visit tedxbozeman.com to apply and learn more about the event. Videos of prior speakers and performers are available on the TEDxBozeman YouTube channel and will illuminate the diverse range of topics and individuals featured in past years. Now celebrating the event’s fifth year, the TEDxBozeman team looks to pay tribute to all the past volunteers, presenters, and audience members whose participation has been integral in the event’s evolution and success. This convergence of teamwork, ideas, and community helped inspire the TEDxBozeman 2016 theme of “Confluence.” The concept evokes ribbons of time, innovation, and discovery which merge together and create what TED coined “Ideas Worth Spreading.” Confluence also pays homage to the geography and history of the region, which is fitting because TEDxBozeman has made a point of honoring its home state in a way that is unique among TEDx events. While TED mandates various rules and regulations every locally-organized TEDx must follow, the TEDxBozeman team made the additional commitment to showcase only individuals with some connection to Montana. In this endeavor the event has highlighted presenters from all walks of life, including academics, artists, business people, musicians, and students. Anyone with a tie to Montana–past or present–is encouraged to apply. The selection process is competitive and less than two dozen applicants are selected for this unique platform every year. The TEDxBozeman team then coaches the speakers and performers in the months leading up to the event, which cultivates in a day of thoughtfully articulated, passionately delivered presentations meant to inform, inspire, and challenge audiences. Speakers for TEDxBozeman 2016 will be announced December 4th on the event’s website and this media outlet. Tickets for the upcoming event will go on sale early next year.
