The classic and spacious Ellen Theatre in Downtown Bozeman is forever ripe with stage entertainment and the upcoming weeks are no different! Here’s a look at what’s behind the curtain in January. Comedy Night at The Ellen starrs Jake Johannsen with his return to the stage, Friday, January 15th at 8pm. He’s back!
In 2014, Jake entertained a packed house of enthused patrons…and now he returns to do it again on this special Friday. Mr. Johannsen was a beloved favorite on the Late Show with David Letterman, appearing over 40 times! In addition, he has been a guest on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Politically Incorrect, and more. Jake’s HBO comedy special “This’ll Take About an Hour” was met with rave reviews. The show earned Johannsen a Cable Ace Award nomination for Best Writing in an Entertainment Special. People Magazine rated it as one of the “ten best television shows of the year,” and TV Guide named the special one of the “50 Funniest Moments of TV.” Johannsen’s bizarre takes and uniquely intelligent style have made him a regular at comedy clubs all over the country. Reserved seats for this laugh fest are $26. Beer, wine, and other refreshments will be available in The Ellen lobby beginning at 7pm, with the hilarity scheduled for 8pm.
Montana Repertory Theatre will present Arthur Miller’s classic drama All My Sons, Tuesday, January 26th at 7:30pm. This award-winning play helped launch the critically acclaimed career of Miller, one of the greatest playwrights of the twentieth-century. All My Sons is a distinctively American play set in the post-World War II era. It details the struggles of an average American family and the substantial effects the war has had on their world. Miller’s intense, honest writing reveals his profound and compassionate understanding of the human experience. Tickets to this poignant theatrical production are $19.75. Wine, beer, and other refreshments will be served in the lobby beginning at 6:30pm, with the performance slated for 7:30pm.
