What are they and why farmers & communities are standing up to them
On Monday, January 4th at 6:30pm,
The Elling House Arts & Humanities Center is pleased to present “GMOs : What are they and why farmers & communities are standing up to them” by Chris Hardy. As a 4th generation farmer, consultant and educator, Chris Hardy’s goals include support for regenerative agriculture, building community seed networks and supporting a transition to local food systems as the foundation for sustaining future generations. As initiator of an overwhelmingly successful campaign in S. Oregon to ban genetically engineered crops (GMOs), he helped bring farmers and citizens from all disciplines to common ground, to protect the future of family farms and the local food supply. This presentation is free to the public.
