at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, in Reynolds Recital
Chamber musicians Gregory Young, Kris Williams and Chris Biehl of Bozeman will perform in a recital of trios by Beethoven, Glinka and Rota at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, in Reynolds Recital Hall on the campus of Montana State University.
The program will include one of Beethoven’s early trios, composed in 1797 and published in Vienna the next year. The musicians will also perform Trio Pathetique, written in 1832 by Mikhail Glinka, the acknowledged founder of Russian concert music. After intermission the trio will highlight each instrument with short solos, and conclude the concert with the lively trio by Nino Rota, who composed the music for “The Godfather.” The performers also will give their perspective on the works as part of the concert.
Tickets for the concert are $10 for general admission, $5 for students, and are available at the door.
