Applications are currently being accepted for volunteering on the Crisis/Suicide/2-1-1 Hotline. Initial training will take place on September 26 & 27with further ‘on the job’ training to follow. In addition, trainees will be expected to participate in another weekend of Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training later this Fall. Trainees will gain experience in active listening skills while assisting a variety of clientele on the hotline. Opportunities for school credit are sometimes available. The crisis line is open 24 hours a day, 365 a year. A commitment to a 4-hour shift per week for 9 months following training is encouraged.
