SpeechCraft series – 6:45 to 8:15 am, on the 4 Tues. in Oct. (6th to 27th)
Does your career need a boost? Would you like to give presentations with poise and confidence—and be more entertaining and engaging? Do want to share your message with more power and influence? Are you ready to finally conquer your fear of public speaking?
The local Toastmasters club is inviting anyone saying “YES” to these questions to participate in a SpeechCraft series on four Tuesdays in October. The program is done in conjunction with the club’s regular meetings, so participants will be surrounded by a fun-loving group of enthusiastic supporters.
SpeechCraft is a mini-Toastmaster program where each participant gives the first four speeches of the regular ten-speech course leading to the Competent Communicator award. There are simple and easy guidelines to follow. Speeches will be from 4 to 7 minutes in length. Each speech will be evaluated in an encouraging way by one of the club’s experienced members.
SpeechCraft is not only Toastmasters most effective program—it’s also the most popular. It’s the quickest way for non-members to jump right in and start improving their skills. Each week, a regular member of the club presents an educational program on the fundamentals of effective speaking.
Participants will come to know and enjoy the club’s fellowship while gaining confidence and training. If participants like it and want more, their cost of $25 can be applied to cover most of their six-month membership.
SpeechCraft has several benefits, participants will enjoy:
- Gaining confidence in public speaking
- Developing communication and language skills
- Learning to think on one’s feet quickly
- Introducing, opening and concluding a speech
- Becoming an effective listener and evaluator
- Using body language, visual aids, and vocal variety
- Advancing in social skills
Speechcraft can also help participants improve their performance in the business world in areas such as: improving job and promotion prospects, giving presentations and conducting meetings, leading and motivating employees, and selling ideas or products.
The upcoming SpeechCraft series will be held from 6:45 to 8:15 am, on the four Tuesdays in October (6th to 27th). The location is H.L. Bldg., at the corner of So. 19th Ave and Graf.
