The Bozeman Doc Series and the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival host a reception and a screening of Janis: Little Girl Blue in the Emerson Crawford Theater Thursday, December 3rd film at 7PM.
The Bozeman Doc Series continues with a special event co-hosted by the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. The event begins at 5:30pm with a reception in the Emerson lobby followed by the Montana premiere of the critically acclaimed documentary Janis: Little Girl Blue.
The largest cinema event in Montana, the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is the premiere venue for non-fiction film in the American West. Join the festival and doc series teams for beer, wine and appetizers at the reception before and continuing after the film.
At 7pm, the award winning short film from this year’s festival, Luchadora, will be screened before the feature presentation of Janis: Little Girl Blue.
One of the most revered and iconic rock & roll singers of all time, Janis Joplin remains a tragic and misunderstood figure. Oscar-nominated director Amy Berg strips away Joplin’s rock ‘n roll persona to reveal the gentle, trusting, sensitive but powerful woman behind the legend, in this quintessential story of a short, epic existence that changed music forever.
Tickets: $10, $8 for students, at door, Cactus Records, Movie Lovers, and online www.bozemandocseries.org
