“Exploratory mine drilling in Emigrant Gulch is absolutely not appropriate.”
-Senator Jon Tester, Livingston Enterprise
Some places are too special to mine. The current proposal to dig for gold in Paradise Valley, Montana, above the Yellowstone River and near the border of our first national park is just such a place. A Canadian mining company is ignoring overwhelming community opposition and has plans to drill with the least amount of transparency and oversight possible. In the 1990’s we stopped a gold mine near Cooke City and with your continued support we will stop them again to protect our precious lands, waters, and wildlife.
Your tax deductible gift will help the Greater Yellowstone Coalition:
- Protect the world famous Yellowstone River and its trout from acid mine drainage.
- Ensure grizzly bear, elk, wolverine, and lynx habitat is safeguarded from damaging mining activity.
- Delay and ultimately stop the Yellowstone Gateway Mine from destroying one of Greater Yellowstone’s most iconic places – the Paradise Valley.
We are always grateful for your support. Thank you for standing with us as we protect the wild heart of North America.
