Have Fun Dancing hosts Argentine tango dancers Fabián Salas and Lola Diaz for a fabulous weekend of dancing on Friday, November 13th, Saturday the 14th and Sunday 15th in Bozeman.
The event will feature classes, parties, practices and performances by two of the world’s hottest tango sensations. Fabián is a living tango legend and is one of the great tango masters of our age. He began touring the world as a tango teacher in 1992, becoming one of the first professional touring teachers in history. In 1995 he started an investigation group which led to the development of a revolutionary way of understanding, teaching and dancing the tango. In 1996 Fabian took part in the filming of the motion picture “Evita” and a year later was one of the main dancers in the award-winning film “The Tango Lesson”. Always pushing the envelope, he is a constant innovator and an exceptional teacher. His wife and partner Lola Diaz, a former ballerina who has danced in Julio Bocca’s Argentine ballet company, is also a former partner of Pablo Veron and has taught at La Viruta in Buenos Aires. Together they present a modern approach to tango based on classic traditions. All events will be held at the Have Fun Dancing studio at 414 Bryant in Bozeman. A knowledge of tango basics is recommended. The entire workshop costs $165 in advance for 8 classes, practice, party and performance. Individual classes cost $25 each. There is a special student discount. Have Fun Dancing offers regular tango classes on Thursday evenings. For those interested in other Latin dances, a basic Salsa class begins November 5th.
