At this time of year, non-profits make a wish list. This year, The Ellen Theatre has a NEED LIST. In 2015, over 30,000 patrons attended 136 events at this glorious showplace. Ellen continues to attract audiences because ticket prices remain affordable, not to mention the several free family movie nights. This is all possible due to the Friends of The Ellen. And tops on our Need List is more Friends. Who are the Friends of The Ellen? People who believe in the mission that a non-profit community performing arts space should be affordable to all. Any community would better with a place like The Ellen, but it is more than just shows and movies. The Ellen provides hundreds of tickets to help various groups fundraise including Bozeman Deaconess Foundation, the Children’s Museum, Bozeman High Choir, Rotary Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Bozeman Library, Pioneer Museum, Eagle Mount, and more. This year Yellowstone Coffee hosted a screening to raise money for Cancer Support Community and Pecha Kucha uses profits from their events to fund worthy causes right here in the Gallatin Valley. Many artists who perform at The Ellen offer outreach to local music and dance students, and dozens of students are involved in TATE Academy, the educational wing of The Ellen. All these things are thanks to Friends of The Ellen. How does one become a Friend of The Ellen? All it takes is a tax-deductible contribution of $100.00. That’s $8.33 per month. Of course, any amount is welcome. Whatever you are able to contribute will help cross off one more item on Ellen‘s Need List. Many hands make any task lighter. This email is going to over 11,000 patrons, all of whom have enjoyed shows, concerts and movies at The Ellen. Thank you for considering becoming a Friend. Simply stated – without the support of the community, Ellen wouldn’t shine as bright, or possibly at all. Let’s work together to make 2016 even brighter.
