–The Montana Chamber Music Society presents its second installment of performances with an innovative and variety-filled program Jan. 27, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in Reynolds Hall at MSU Bozeman. Renowned electric jazz violinist Tracy Silverman, Montana’s own Philip Aaberg, superstar violinist Angella Ahn and MCMS founder and Festival veteran cellist Sara Stalnaker will perform a wide selection of jazz works, followed by the immortal Mendelssohn D minor Piano Trio. Net proceeds from these programs support MCMS’s mission to present great chamber music performances throughout Montana year-round.
Tracy Silverman, formerly first violinist of the renowned Turtle Island Quartet, tours worldwide as soloist and jazz innovator. Philip Aaberg is familiar to audiences around the world for his collaborative and solo work in many musical genres. Angella Ahn, MSU Bozeman’s recently appointed Professor of Violin, has toured wordwide with the Ahn Trio, and Ms. Stalnaker has performed frequently as Festival artist and as cellist of the Providence String Quartet.
